Mirko Vucinic's agent claims to have held preliminary transfer talks with Manchester United.
The 27-year-old Roma striker seems set for a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer after supporters turned on him, highlighting a poor attitude on the field.
Juventus and Tottenham have both been linked with the Montenegro international, while Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini admitted earlier this week a departure was almost inevitable.
Surprisingly, United now appear to have joined the race to sign the highly-rated forward, with his representative Alessandro Lucci saying contact has been made with the Premier League champions.
"The meeting with the leaders of Manchester United was yesterday," Lucci told lasignoraingiallorosso.it.
"It has only been a chat, in which no offers have been made nor was there an agreement sorted.
"The English club, however, really like Vucinic, but to see him with the shirt of the Red Devils, there is still work to do."
Sir Alex Ferguson has already splashed the cash this summer on Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David de Gea and announced on Monday that no other signs were foreseeable.
