Chicago Fire Sign Pavel Pardo From Club America

Chicago Fire have announced the arrival of Mexican midfielder Pavel Pardo from Club America.

The 35-year-old is likely to be available for action when the club takes on Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, August 3.

Pardo, a former Mexico international, arrives after spending the last three years at Club America and brings with him a wealth of experience.

A statement on the Fire's official website reads:

"The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announce on Tuesday that the club have signed former Mexican international Pavel Pardo.

"The midfielder will be added to the Fire’s squad upon the receipt of his P1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed."

Speaking of the transfer, interim head coach Frank Klopas said: "Pavel is a very talented player who can help our team.

"Pavel’s international credentials and track record as a professional were defining factors in us bringing Pavel to the Fire. He will provide additional depth in the midfield as we push for a play-off spot in the second half of the MLS season."
