Arsenal is monitoring the situation of Anderlecht’s Lucas Biglia, and could spring a shock bid before the end of the month.
The Gunners scouts have been paying close attention to the 25-year-old, who's just broken into Argentina’s national side, and the midfielder recently encouraged offers from major sides.
‘I think I have ended my cycle at Anderlecht and I want to do something new,’ Biglia told Het Nieuwsblad.
‘The board know what I want to do. I know that playing for the Argentina national side means I get plenty of exposure and opens lots of doors.
‘Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.’
Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster his midfield options, and Biglia fits the bill for the ball-playing, tough-tackling player the Gunners boss is seeking.
Liverpool and Tottenham have also been linked, but with the start of the season fast approaching, sources suggest Wenger will make a £6m opening offer in the coming weeks to try and beat the competition.
