Palermo held on to Abel Hernandez amid interest, but there are reports Malaga will revive their bid in January.
The Uruguayan hitman had several offers over the summer and all were rejected by President Maurizio Zamparini.
It is now rumoured that Spanish side Malaga have not given up on Hernandez and are already preparing another proposal for the January transfer window.
