Arsenal is lining up a January move for Fiorentina midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas, according to reports in Italy.
Arsene Wenger was linked with a move for the gifted Peruvian during the summer transfer window but made no bid for him.
But now reports in Italy claim the Gunners are preparing to go back for him in the New Year.
The 27-year-old, who can play on the left of midfield or defence, has been one of the Serie A side's outstanding performers since his arrival in 2008.
Vargas has two years left on his contract but it is thought Fiorentina would be willing to sell for around £13m when the window opens in January.
